ANNOUNCEMENTS 


Important Dates in April:

  • May 1st-April 1st-30th-Seniors: Financial Aid information appointments are available every Monday morning through the month of April. Stop by Student Services to make your appointment with Ms. Sykes.
  • April 12th-Seniors: Josten's will have cap/gown pick up in the cafeteria on 4/12/18.
  • April 25th-Registration verification sheets for the coming school year will be delivered to homeroom. IF you have changes, use the verification sheet to choose your new course selection, have your parents signature and return the verification sheet to student services by May 1st. 
  • April 26th-AP Exam Information Session during Star Lunch.
    • Students with the last name that begins with A-L=Star Lunch A
    • Students with the last name that begins with M-Z=Star Lunch B
  • April 27th-Make-Up AP Exam Information Session during B lunch in the auditorium
Coming up in May-
May 1st-Senior VIP Program. a program to educate senior students about the dangers of driving while impaired or distracted.  Teachers will escort seniors down for 2 programs throughout the day.
May 15th @ 7pm the Business Alliance is sponsoring a "Transitioning to College Night" for seniors and their parents. This will be held in the AFHS auditorium. There will be a panel of 5 current college students and a college counselor. During the opening session, the panel will talk about their high school to college experience, provide advice/best practices and answer general questions. We will then have a "break-out" session where students will stay in the auditorium and will be free to ask more specific questions. The parents will go to the cafeteria for their session to learn more about senior graduation activities and have an opportunity to hear from a college counselor. 

Rising Juniors/Seniors:
​Wake Tech-CCP Program

If you are planning on applying for the Wake Tech CCP program, please bring your completed application to Student Services to receive the proper signatures so that you can send in your CCP application to Wake Tech. You will also need to complete the following forms and return them to Student Services.
1. Dual Enrollment, 2. Authorization between WCPSS and WTCC,  3. Request for Early Release/Late Arrival. 
Also, remember you will still need to register for a full schedule for the 2018-19 school year then once the CCP application is accepted with WTCC your schedule will be adjusted at AFHS.

Seniors and Mid-Year Transcripts:
*If you applied to a college/university using the Common App (and that college/university requires a mid-year transcript) your counselor will automatically send it through common app.
*If you applied to an in-state college you should request your transcript to be sent through your CFNC account.
*If you applied to an out of state college you should request a transcript be sent to that college through www.scriborder.com.

Each senior will receive 8 graduation tickets. Seniors may request additional tickets by clicking here.

Juniors...
​Have you signed up to take the SAT?

All juniors that plan on attending a college or university after high school should take the SAT at least once their junior year.  Only two test dates remain-May 5th, and June 2nd.
