Starting the 2015-16 school year, all high school students in North Carolina will be graded on a 10 point grading scale as opposed to what used to be a 7 pt grading scale. Listed below is the breakdown. Past school years will not be effected OR changed.
90-100 A 80-89 B 70-79 C 60-69 D 0-59 F
Starting the 2015-16 school year Final grades will be posted on transcripts as the true numeric grade the student received, NOT the letter grade. Past school years will not be effected OR changed.
English 4 credits English I, English II, English III, English IV * Math 4 credits Math I, Math II, Math III, 1 math beyond Math III Science 4 credits Earth Science, Biology, a "physical science" (physical science, chemistry, OR, physics) Social Studies 4 credits * World History, American History I, American History II, Civics/Economics Healthful Living 2 Required Electives Must come from Foreign Language, Arts, and/or CTE (Career Technology Education) 7 Electives
Total- 26 Minimum Credits for Graduation
* Students may substitute AP US History and 1 social studies elective for (American History I and American History II)
